These statistics are hard to read, but they are a reality we cannot afford to ignore:
– 25% of people accessing talking therapies are men.
– 75% of all suicides are men.
Men are significantly less likely to seek professional help or talk about their struggles, yet they make up the vast majority of those lost to suicide. This silence is costing lives.
As fathers, step-fathers, and granddads, the pressure to “hold it all together” for our families can make it even harder to admit when things are heavy. But opening up isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s a vital step to staying here for the people who love you.
You don’t have to navigate the dark days alone.
This is why the Milton Keynes Dads Club was built; to help break this cycle. We aren’t here to lecture or judge; we are just a group of local dads providing a casual, confidential, and supportive space to talk, listen, and look out for one another.
Whether it’s over a coffee or during our relaxed weekend walks, our community is always open.
Please reach out. Send us a DM on Facebook or Insta (details on our About page) if you need a chat, or join us at our next meetup. Let’s change these numbers together.
